Dave has been working in the education industry for over 12 years. As a teacher, he is mostly appraised for his ability to create an enjoyable working atmosphere and has a special talent for helping those with confidence issues. Helping people overcome their mental barriers and communicate effectively is his passion and was the driving force behind him creating Mr Jones Language Academy with Ceri as he feels that his philosophy and method, created over 12 years by listening to his students and refining his ideas, will greatly benefit speakers of English as a foreign language.

In his personal time, Dave's passion is skiing. He is also a ski instructor and for a few months per year you will find him teaching on the slopes of Zermatt in Switzerland.

Passionate about linguistics, I love learning new languages. Having started at a beginner level in French and Turkish, I empathize with students and believe that a good teacher is always friendly, patient and adaptable to individual student needs. My role as a teacher is to make your learning experience both enjoyable and educational, and to help you feel comfortable using your new language skills. With degrees in English Literature and Philosophy, I am both an avid reader and a film buff. In my spare time, I like to play board games and do puzzles. I am currently writing my first novel!

I’m an English Language and Literature teacher with a love of fun and games (and a bit of a love of grammar too - shh!). I’ve taught English to people of all ages across different settings and locations since 2008, and enjoy tailoring my lessons to individuals’ needs to make sure learners get what they need in their way. I am a firm believer in the ‘doing is learning’ philosophy, and you can usually find me trying out a new skill in my free time to try to put my learning principles into practice! My latest ventures are classes in improv comedy, British Sign Language, and musical theatre.

Coach / Multicultural expert

Accent:

As a Certified Professional Coach, I want to bring my perspective and experience to companies to help them overcome their challenges. Each new company, each individual within a company, is for me a new adventure that I approach with the energy that characterizes me.

Coming from a technical training with an engineering degree (University of Ottawa and INSA), I started my career in France in the industrial sector. For more than 15 years I worked as purchasing manager and then marketing manager, always on an international scale: Europe, Asia, North America, South America – and the passion for these multicultural exchanges grew within me. Being a native of Canada and living in France for 22 years… multiculturalism is also my daily life!

I created Maple Coaching to support and help people and organizations to meet their challenges, succeed in their transitions, exploit their full potential and talents, especially in their international development.
